Addressing the elephant in the room - Yes, I don't take bengali columnists & politicians seriously and yes I think they should be ignored and avoided at all costs.

Firstly, no I don't hate Bengalis. I work for a Company whose headquarters is in West Bengal and hence I work with a lot of Bengali folks. I really like the company of the average Bengali guy since I feel they're really calm and mostly don't get worked up. These are qualities I look for in potential friends since I am myself a geek and an introvert. I have worked with Bengali women too and even though they get annoyed easily, they're okay to deal with too, for the most part. As a populace, I have nothing against the Bengalis.
The kind of Bengalis I am against - newspaper columnists, politicians and the intellectual mastrubators.
Everytime I read some negative column about India, whether some opaque UN ranking process which lists India last or some random lynch incident in some part of the country with a billion + people, chances are that some Bengali columnist wrote it. At first, I used to ignore it thinking it was a random coincident but then I started noticing a pattern. It was almost always some commie Bengali guy or girl who was probably unemployed that wrote such columns. I have honestly never come across many such columns on most newspapers by Gujarati, Marathi or Rajasthani folks. It is almost always either a Bengali or someone from JNU/Khan market gang or a Mallu. Mostly Bengalis though.
Now I am okay with folks critiquing the state of the country, I genuinely believe that criticism is how most advanced civilizations evolve but then I noticed something else. Even though the Bengali columnists keep lamenting about the state of the country, they very cunningly never lament about the state of West Bengal. It is no secret that West Bengal has had literally the worst run that a state could possibly have had over the past few decades. The state has had no notable industry flourish (like IT in Bangalore, automobiles in Chennai, finance in Mumbai) nor has it given rise to many startups. The infrastructure of the state is in absolute shambles once you discount whatever the British built during their time in Kolkata. There are so many slums in Kolkata that Dharavi looks like a nothingburger in front of it. Most Bengalis themselves have to leave West Bengal and move to cities like Gurgaon in UP for their jobs. Irony is that the Bengali columnists love painting UP as some African state with no future.
The current state of West Bengal would be absolutely fine if it were some piss poor state like Bihar or UP which was landlocked and never had much commerce but West Bengal was at one point of time the financial, political and cultural capital of India. Yes, all three. There are very few cities/states worldwide which held the title of all three at some point of time. To go from being the richest state of India to what is a modern day equivalent of a Tier 2 town requires some absolutely horrible governance. Even if politicians do nothing, rich states tend to grow at decent rate even on an auto-pilot mode. Only active mismanagement can reduce a state which was at such heights to the shit hole it has become today.
Most of the mismanagement came from the communists and when the communists themselves wanted to do some good in the state like maybe opening up a factory with Ratan Tata which would lead to jobs, which would lead to taxes, which would improve the state's finances which would improve its infrastructure and social security schemes, in comes TMC. They were hell bent that how come the communists are finally starting to do some good? The state's shit hole like status should only worsen further, not improve. Funnily enough, TMC won !
When you look at these politicians like Mahua Mohitra shouting their lungs out, you really need to wonder, what the f** have they done? They are acting as if under TMC, WB has become the startup hub of India, not Bangalore, WB is the detroit of India, not Gujarat or TN, WB is the financial capital of India, not Mumbai. WB has the longest and most well connected metro, not Delhi. Good public speaking skills is something I have come to discount in politicians, Nehru was an excellent spokesman too but his performance as politician was nothing exemplary.
The irony is that WB was indeed all the above at some point in the past. It was where almost all commerce/entrepreneurial/startup activity was taking place. The Birlas and Tatas had their HQ in Kolkata. The first tramp and telegraph line was in Kolkata/WB. Manufacturing was growing by leaps and bounds. It is unironically the commie columnists and politicians like TMC and CPI-M which have actively brought down the state.
Most countries and their growth is tied to a bunch of key cities. It is New York and Los Angeles for America, it is Shanghai and Hong Kong for China. India unfortunately had pretty much put all its eggs in Kolkata with some diversification later on to Mumbai. Kolkata's growth at some point unironically meant India's growth. If such a key city starts going down the drain then no shit it is gonna pull down the country's performance too. States like UP and Bihar were always poor and impoverished. Blaming them for the country's lack of performance is like blaming the last ranking player of the team while the Captain was busy getting drunk and ruining his performance.
These commie/TMC Bengali columnists and politicians decrying about the country's state of affairs while completely turning a blind eye towards their own contribution towards the decline of the country's most key and essential state is just blatant hypocrisy.
For now, whenever I read a newspaper column (becoming increasingly less), I just tend to ignore the entire article if it were written by some bhattacharjee or chatterjee, sorry but I am not gonna feed your hypocrisy, go find someone else.
